We participated in Tahoe Forest Stewardship Day organized by Keep Tahoe Blue. 15 of us picked up around 50 pounds of litter in a meadow at South Shore, Lake Tahoe, from about 8:30 through 1 pm.
The results were overwhelming. One volunteer said he found a dog bed in the river, which was not included in the weight. We picked up microscopic pieces of plastic from cigarette butts to abandoned homeless encampments.
It was rewarding to see the pile of trash that was no longer polluting the beautiful forest meadow.
